SCHOOL MUSICAL

The Holy Name School Drama Club, an after school activity for students in the Junior High, has been an entertaining and educational part of the school. The Drama Club has trained numerous actors, actresses, and stage crew members throughout the years. The school and parish community add to the production of each school by providing funds, carpenters, artists, costume designers, and choreographers to each performance. In Drama Club, we are very committed to making each student’s experience a positive one, not only by reinforcing the basics of performance learned in classes, but also providing an additional venue for teamwork and pride. The Drama Club creates an atmosphere where those truly interested and committed to performing arts can continue to explore. It is extra-curricular, so the time requirements will be after school. The Drama season changes based on the production and the club meets 2-3 times per week for rehearsals and meetings regarding the upcoming production.

OPERA TOGETHER

Opera Together is a San Francisco Opera Guild program that brings professional opera performances to schools. It features a 45-minute, English-language reduction of a classic opera, performed by professional singers and a pianist, with students from the school participating in smaller roles and as a chorus.

SCHOOL TALENT SHOW

A student showcase where individuals or groups perform various acts for the student body. It's a platform for students to display their skills, build confidence, and foster community spirit. Acts can range from singing and dancing to instrumental performances, comedy, drama, and even unique talents like juggling or magic tricks. The event provides an opportunity for students to shine, overcome stage fright, and share their passions with the school community.
